“The Cinderella Project”
The 2015 prom season marks the 1st endeavor of “The Cinderella Project” to provide prom dresses to teenage girls whose families are financially challenged. We offer an alternative solution for many Washington-Metropolitan families for whom prom season can become a dreaded time as they try to decide between spending much money on a beautiful dress or household and other school expenses. Many teenagers today are being raised by single parents, grandparents, and others on a fixed income, prom season can be a stressful time.
We have partnered with local business owners, area schools, nonprofit organizations and individual sponsors within the Washington-Metropolitan area and as far away as South Carolina are supporting this cause. We set-up our Prom Dress Giveaways like a real department store with dress racks, a make-up counter, and an accessory department, and girls are given personal shoppers who create an extra individual boutique shopping experience for them.
Our goal is to provide prom dresses, accessories, including purses, jewelry, wraps, and shoes annually, and they are transformed into “Beautiful Princess.” We believe that no girl should miss out on attending prom. It’s honestly one of the fascinating events in a girl’s life.
